At Beauty Box 5, we try not to play favorites, but at the end of the day, there are certain blogs that we can’t help but sing about, and My Newest Addiction is one of them! Laura is seriously knowledgeable and always gives a fun, in-depth review of products we really want to try.
So, without further ado, meet our Blogger of the Month!
BB5: Tell us a little about your blog!
Laura: Have you ever tried to remember a makeup look you created, but couldn’t think of exactly which colors you combined? My Newest Addiction Beauty Blog started as my makeup diary. I posted pictures of my makeup looks and listed the products. My posts quickly turned into reviews due to readers requesting my opinions on the products I was trying out. I now post mostly about beauty but throw in some fun extra posts about my family and other things from time to time.
BB5: If you could only use three beauty products for the rest of your life, what what they be?
Laura: Only 3? A great cleanser, blush, and mascara.
BB5: Good choices! What are some of your favorite brands?
Laura: My cosmetic tastes range from high end to extremely affordable. My favorite brands include Laura Mercier, Jane Cosmetics, Stila, TATCHA, and Amarte.
BB5: Care to share your favorite thing about Beauty Box 5?
Laura: I love Beauty Box 5 because of the variety of products included in each box. The Nubar nail polish included in the October 2013 box has been my favorite brand/product I’ve discovered the Beauty Box 5! I had never tried it prior and now I own several.
BB5: You. Are. Awesome. Any last words of beauty wisdom?
Sure! If you try something new with your makeup and you don’t like it, don’t just rule it out… revisit it again and you will likely find that you just needed to practice!

This is a no-judgement zone, so I’m not afraid of disclosing my status as a budding bag lady.
Because of my constant purse switching, I keep samples of lotion in every bag to prevent my poor little fingers and elbows from ashing, and I’m always happy when I discover a Body Drench lotion at the bottom.
I believe in the power of masks.
As someone who had acne for years and inherited large pores around my nose and cheeks, I love masks because they minimize my pores, in addition to making my skin feel smooth and even.
A seasoned mask veteran, I’ll try any kind (Green tea? Volcanic ash? Bring it on!) from anywhere (who hasn’t run to the Dollar Store?), but this Glacial Clay Spa mask from Montagne Jeunesse is my first go with a fabric mask.
Made with arctic cloudberries and red grapes, this mask works with any skin type to cool and calm your skin. It’s also super easy to apply, because all you have to do is open the package, put the mask on your face, and gently pat it down to make sure it adheres to your skin.

Like any good clean freak and lover of the little things, I am all about treating myself to long, hot showers every once in a while. Along with serious amounts of steam and super fresh skin, I value a body wash that feels luxe and smells great.
Which is why I’m a pretty big fan of Aveeno Positively Nourishing Calming Body Wash.

Forget smokey eyes— we’re upgrading to sparkly lips!
This month we’ve been inspired by Bellapierre’s Cosmetic Glitters and want to have some fun. The key to success is picking the right color— you can go with a clear glitter to enhance or slightly alter the shade of your favorite lipstick, or you can double up using similar colors for seriously vibrant results.
Just remember to eat first, and to warn your man ahead of time that the kisses will have to wait a while.
