Beauty Box 5

This past week my family and I put Aveeno’s Active Naturals Protect + Hydrate SPF 30 Lotion to the test. Read on to find out why we think this new SPF is a must-have for those sunny summer outings.

Over the course of this past week, I used Protect + Hydrate as my daily facial SPF, my mom (who’s extremely sensitive to the sun) used it to replace her daily body SPF and my son wore it for two outings to the neighborhood pool.  

As a daily facial product, I love that Aveeno’s skipped the physical sunscreens like zinc and titanium dioxide that leave a smelly, greasy, white film on the skin.  Protect + Hydrate is light-weight, absorbs quickly and the smell is light and pleasant. Using it as my only daily moisturizer this week I’m also appreciative of the level of hydration offered by Aveeno's ACTIVE NATURALS® Colloidal Oatmeal.  This skin-protecting active ingredient helps restore skin’s normal pH and aid in the maintenance of skin’s moisture barrier to prevent and protect dry skin.

Mom liked Protect + Hydrate for all of the same reasons I did and was extremely impressed at the fact this SPF 30 didn’t break her out…something that seems to plague her with most SPFs 30 or over.  As the one who usually takes my son swimming, she also appreciated the water resistance factor and loved that her skin still felt hydrated after spending time in the chlorine

As for my 6 year old, he thought Protect + Hydrate smelled like “flowers” and was happy it didn’t run into his eyes and sting. As mom, I was happy my little swimmer didn’t burn after a full two hours in the sun and that he’s finally quit running from me when the sunscreen comes out of the swim bag.

Overall, Protect + Hydrate is a great sunscreen for the entire family and I highly recommend making it a staple in your summer regimen, we sure have!
