NYFW 101: How to get ready for a fashion show in under a minute. #MNYfw #hyperlapse

Hooray, my new specs are in from Rivet & Sway!! Wanna know what pair I picked?!?!?! You should keep reading then! (My interview with John, one of the Rivet & Sway founders, is in here too!)
Before you get started, click here for the link to Part I of my Rivet & Sway blog.
Now that that’s out of the way, everyone meet Rivet & Sway's "Spitfire" in "Galapagos Green," we’re in a completely visual relationship! ;-) (Forgive the silly face, I hate pictures.)
I have to admit that I totally LOVE these glasses! (Ritzy, the Rivet & Sway personal stylist did a great job helping me choose!) I have a rather wide face and a square jaw so it’s always been a hassle to find frames that I look good in; I usually end up in men’s frames and they’re never cute enough for me. These are PERFECT!!! They fit well out of the box and I adore being able to see the bright green on the back side of the glasses when I wear them!
Regardless of your face size or shape, I know that Rivet & Sway will have frames you LOVE too…especially in their new collection! I’m personally lusting after the "Snapshot" in "Cherry Blossom" for my next pair!
Now, let’s get down to the details. Given how much I adore this company, I wanted to get a little more information about how they got to be so fabulous and John, one of the Rivet & Sway founders (and a fellow Austinite), was gracious enough to let me pick his brain for almost an hour! Here’s what I learned…
The Style
John actually created the first Rivet & Sway collection in-house by crowd-sourcing the initial designs. While he didn’t get all the love he wanted from that initial offering, there were some definite hits and his team was inspired to make the next collection all that much more amazing! …and that they did! Collection #2, which recently launched, is the product of the Rivet & Sway creative team and a French eyewear designer. John loves having her on board because of her, “innate feel for the market trends” and believes that having someone in Europe keeps Rivet & Sway at the forefront of eyewear fashion!
Why Rx Eyewear?
Rivet & Sway was born out of the desire to change how women viewed and experienced purchasing prescription eyewear. John told me that, based on their research, most women see shopping for glasses as a “painful errand” and that, in their mind, prescription eyewear is a “medical device” that can only be purchased from a doctor. (YUCK!) It became very apparent to John that women didn’t seem to view Rx eyewear as an accessory like they did their sunglasses and that most women lacked the education and assistance they needed to make the Rx eyewear purchasing process easier and more enjoyable.
With that in mind, John and his “merry band of entrepreneurs” set out to change the face of women’s eyewear (no pun intended, lol)! Their goal? The Rivet & Sway team wants women to, “Lead with their frames first!” It’s all about seizing the opportunity to educate women on how to purchase their Rx eyewear and then creating a unique, enjoyable and personalized shopping experience.
Based on the experience I’ve just had, Rivet & Sway has done exactly that! The frames are trendy without being over-the-top, the customer service is out-of-this-world and, from Ritzy to the price and the adorable packaging, the Rivet & Sway experience is personal, enlightening and enjoyable! You can guarantee you’ll see more Rivet & Sway frames on this face and I’d love to see them on yours too!
Please feel free to post pictures of you in your Rivet & Sway frames on the Beauty Box 5 Facebook page and don’t forget to tag us both!
