Forget smokey eyes— we’re upgrading to sparkly lips!

This month we’ve been inspired by Bellapierre’s Cosmetic Glitters and want to have some fun. The key to success is picking the right color— you can go with a clear glitter to enhance or slightly alter the shade of your favorite lipstick, or you can double up using similar colors for seriously vibrant results.

Just remember to eat first, and to warn your man ahead of time that the kisses will have to wait a while.

1. Prep lips with your go-to balm (we grabbed Body Drench’s Lip Drench in Raspberry) to add a little hydration to your pucker. Next, line your lips for definition and shape (hey there, Model Co Illusion Nude Lip Liner).

2. Apply your first coat of lipstick (we went with Forever 21’s Matte Lipstick in Hot Pink because it’s creamy texture would hold the glitter better and give it a feminine hue). Pat your lips with a tissue, then add a second coat.

3. Start applying the glitter (we used Bellapierre’s Cosmetic Glitter in Sparkle) with a brush or your fingers, starting at the center of your lips and moving outward. Lastly, add as much extra glitter as you’d like!

We loved doing this tutorial because it was super easy and statement lips are a great way to get into the holiday spirit. Also, these lips have a simple removal technique— go on and scrape the glitter off with your nail. I know it’s not the most glamorous, but it’s the quickest and easiest way.
