BB5: Hey, pretty lady! Weâre so happy to have you as our May Blogger of the Month! Weâve always loved your blog and all the looks you put together with our April box were awesome. Can you tell us a little about how it all began?
MEYA: I decided to start a blog in 2009. Iâve always been really girly and into fashion and beauty so I decided to share it with the world. My blog reflects me so itâs just a form of expressing myself.
BB5: Cool. What is your makeup philosophy? And do you have a beauty icon?
MEYA: My philosophy in makeup is there is no rules. I believe anyone can wear what they want and how they want as long as thereâs confidence within them. My beauty icon would have to be Jennifer Lopez because she always has the most beautiful glow.
BB5: Itâs true— no one can beat her glow. What is the best beauty advice youâve ever received?
MEYA: “Lipstick always makes everything better.” - my mom
BB5: Your mom knows whatâs up! Can we take a second to talk a little about Beauty Box? Weâd love to know what your favorite brand or product has been so far!
MEYA: So far my favorite BB5 product would have to be Swissco Dual-sided Facial Pad because ever since I started using it 3 times a week my face has been feeling softer and clear. It leaves me with a great canvas to apply makeup making it look flawless.
BB5: Oooh, another unexpected answer— and one of our favorites, too! What would you say is the best product in the April box?
MEYA: The best product in the April box would have to be Nicka K New York Hydro Lipstick in “Daring,” It just makes me feel so sexy when wearing it.
BB5: Right? Itâs one of the best lipsticks weâve ever tried! And one last question— if you could only use three beauty products for the rest of your life, what what they be?
MEYA: If I could only use three beauty products for the rest of my life they would be lipstick, blush and moisturizer.

BB5: Hey, girlfriend! We love your blog and that lipstick! Tell us a little about your website?
JOHANNA: I started my blog four years ago because I was going through a particularly tough time in my life. I needed a creative outlet and I have a journalism degree that Iâm very proud of. I dove in head first and Iâve never looked back. I cover everything, including my latest masterpieces⌠my gorgeous daughters.
BB5: Awwww. Thatâs too cute. What would you say is your makeup philosophy?
JOHANNA: Less is more. I wear just as much makeup as the next woman, but I try to look as natural as possible. And I never leave the house without a bold lip.

MINA: About 6 years ago I was working at a beauty company and constantly being asked for skincare recommendations. I loved sharing my opinions, so after an auto injury I decided to start a beauty blog. Around the same time I was having major Lupus flares and really got more into makeup to help me not look as sick as I felt. I eventually added in other things I love so I blog about skin, hair, makeup, nails and even fashion!
BB5: What is your makeup philosophy?
MINA: I see makeup as beauty enhancer. It doesnât change who I am and Iâm not trying to be someone else, it simply reflects the many sides of me in fun and sometimes artistic ways!
BB5: Who is your beauty icon?
MINA: My grandmother. She may not be famous, but to me she is the pure definition of classic beauty inside and out. So many trends of today are things I remember my grandmother rocking many years ago. Tips and tricks she taught me are still a part of my daily routine.
BB5: What is the best beauty advice youâve ever received?
MINA: Less is more! I always thought my mother was just doing the mom thing when she told me that but itâs so true. Itâs easier to build color up than it is to lessen it when youâve used too much! Start with a little and build it slowly until you get the result you want.

Laura: Have you ever tried to remember a makeup look you created, but couldnât think of exactly which colors you combined? My Newest Addiction Beauty Blog started as my makeup diary. I posted pictures of my makeup looks and listed the products. My posts quickly turned into reviews due to readers requesting my opinions on the products I was trying out. I now post mostly about beauty but throw in some fun extra posts about my family and other things from time to time.
- Lip balm: TATCHAâs “Gold Collection”. It feels so soothing and moisturizing and I feel the effects for hours.
- Mascara: IT Cosmetics “Hello Lashes” and Jordana “Best Lash Extreme.” They both do a great job at adding volume and length.
- Eyeliner: The liquid liner from Jane Cosmetics, specifically the one called “Golden Black.” It is black with the most gorgeous gold highlights.
- Blush: “Lotus Pink" from Laura Mercier. It is the perfect pink and I always feel pretty when wearing it.
