To the girl who loves rocking a bold lip but is scared to look in her compact midway through the evening, I feel you.
I so know the pain of running to the bathroom to check my makeup and being horrified when my once-perfectly-primped lipstick has vanished all too well, so anything that keeps my smackers looking smashing is an obsession! I always shied away from liner because I thought it was just another step, but this month, Iâm loving the great, long-lasting color and definition of Starlooksâ Lip Liner because it fixes my getting ready woes in one step. Being a newbie to lip pencils, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it glides on (gently warm the tip between your thumb and index finger!) and that it really did keep my lipstick in place- no more dreaded smudges on my skin!
An even better bonus and lazy-girlâs dream? The pencilâs pigments and finish are so top-notch that I have been using it by itself as an allover lip color as well!
BB5 Tip: Just trace your pout and fill in inside the lines like your old coloring book days- and if youâre worried that the outline might be too harsh, use a q-tip around the edges to blend or soften the look!

BB5: Hey, pretty lady! Weâre so happy to have you as our May Blogger of the Month! Weâve always loved your blog and all the looks you put together with our April box were awesome. Can you tell us a little about how it all began?
MEYA: I decided to start a blog in 2009. Iâve always been really girly and into fashion and beauty so I decided to share it with the world. My blog reflects me so itâs just a form of expressing myself.
BB5: Cool. What is your makeup philosophy? And do you have a beauty icon?
MEYA: My philosophy in makeup is there is no rules. I believe anyone can wear what they want and how they want as long as thereâs confidence within them. My beauty icon would have to be Jennifer Lopez because she always has the most beautiful glow.
BB5: Itâs true— no one can beat her glow. What is the best beauty advice youâve ever received?
MEYA: “Lipstick always makes everything better.” - my mom
BB5: Your mom knows whatâs up! Can we take a second to talk a little about Beauty Box? Weâd love to know what your favorite brand or product has been so far!
MEYA: So far my favorite BB5 product would have to be Swissco Dual-sided Facial Pad because ever since I started using it 3 times a week my face has been feeling softer and clear. It leaves me with a great canvas to apply makeup making it look flawless.

- A nude lip liner— we used Model Co Lip Enhancer Illusion Lip Liner.
- A bright and cheerful lipstick— we used Nicka K New York Hydro Lipstick in “Daring” because red lips are classic, uber feminine, and chic in any season.
STEPS
- After wiping off any lip balm, outline your lips by firmly rubbing the pencil in a back and forth motion around your cupidâs bow (the dip at center of your top lip), and slowly make your way around.
- Fill in your lips entirely— it will make the lipstick easier to apply and last longer.
- Swipe on color, blot, and repeat!
P.S. The key to a perfectly lacquered lip is a good canvas! Always exfoliate and moisturize before applying lipstick— gently scrub lips with a tooth brush, apply lip balm, and give it a few minutes to soak in!
