STEPS
1. Apply a thin layer of eyeshadow base to your entire lid with your finger.
2. Starting at the corner of your eye, apply a neutral shadow (with a hint of shimmer!) by sweeping your brush along your crease for all-over color and definition.
3. Pick your favorite light blue shade and fill in your top lid. For more vibrant color, you can add a few layers of shadow, or wet your brush.
4. Using an angled brush, start at the corner of your eyes and work your way inwards to create a thin line with a bright yellow shadow, stopping just beyond your iris.
5. Apply the liquid eyeliner base to your top lash line only, then follow with black liquid liner for a simple and clean line.
6. Make the bright colors really pop with long, dark lashes— just apply three coats at the top and two at your bottom for lush volume.
PS. When you’re highlighting your eyes with bold colors it’s best to leave the rest of your face more natural side. We just applied a little lip gloss and called it a success!

BB5: Hey, pretty lady! We’re so happy to have you as our May Blogger of the Month! We’ve always loved your blog and all the looks you put together with our April box were awesome. Can you tell us a little about how it all began?
MEYA: I decided to start a blog in 2009. I’ve always been really girly and into fashion and beauty so I decided to share it with the world. My blog reflects me so it’s just a form of expressing myself.
BB5: Cool. What is your makeup philosophy? And do you have a beauty icon?
MEYA: My philosophy in makeup is there is no rules. I believe anyone can wear what they want and how they want as long as there’s confidence within them. My beauty icon would have to be Jennifer Lopez because she always has the most beautiful glow.
BB5: It’s true— no one can beat her glow. What is the best beauty advice you’ve ever received?
MEYA: “Lipstick always makes everything better.” - my mom
BB5: Your mom knows what’s up! Can we take a second to talk a little about Beauty Box? We’d love to know what your favorite brand or product has been so far!
MEYA: So far my favorite BB5 product would have to be Swissco Dual-sided Facial Pad because ever since I started using it 3 times a week my face has been feeling softer and clear. It leaves me with a great canvas to apply makeup making it look flawless.
BB5: Oooh, another unexpected answer— and one of our favorites, too! What would you say is the best product in the April box?
MEYA: The best product in the April box would have to be Nicka K New York Hydro Lipstick in “Daring,” It just makes me feel so sexy when wearing it.
BB5: Right? It’s one of the best lipsticks we’ve ever tried! And one last question— if you could only use three beauty products for the rest of your life, what what they be?
MEYA: If I could only use three beauty products for the rest of my life they would be lipstick, blush and moisturizer.

- A bright and cheerful lipstick— we used Nicka K New York Hydro Lipstick in “Daring” because red lips are classic, uber feminine, and chic in any season.
STEPS
- After wiping off any lip balm, outline your lips by firmly rubbing the pencil in a back and forth motion around your cupid’s bow (the dip at center of your top lip), and slowly make your way around.
- Fill in your lips entirely— it will make the lipstick easier to apply and last longer.
- Swipe on color, blot, and repeat!
P.S. The key to a perfectly lacquered lip is a good canvas! Always exfoliate and moisturize before applying lipstick— gently scrub lips with a tooth brush, apply lip balm, and give it a few minutes to soak in!

Ever wondered how celebrities get a perfectly precise pout?
The secret isn’t an expensive lipstick or even a fancy lip brush— it’s lip liner! An often over looked looked tool, this little stick can mean the difference between a photo-perfect lip and a smeared smile. And we’ve all been there.

I’m a minimalist. Or at least I try to tell myself I am.
Whether it’s cosmetics or fashion, I try find quality items and purge often (easier said than done), but I’m always thinking “what if?” What if I really need that short sequin dress? What if there is a day I DO want to wear that sample of lime eyeshadow?
