HOW TO COVER A BLEMISH
A quick and simple tutorial on how to βspot concealβ for days that you donβt want to wear foundation but you need a little...
The Beauty Box 5 shop is having a major sale just in time for spring! All of our lovely Bellapierre Eye Kits are half-price! That really is a major steal and with the upcoming season change it’s definitely time for some new additions to that makeup collection.
In this video, Elisa at Team BB5 is modeling a fun, gorgeous look created with Bellapierre eye and lip products - and we couldn’t forget to prime her eyes with Elizabeth Mott “Thank Me Later” primer from February’s beauty box to prevent creasing. Here’s what we used:
Eyes:
Elizabeth Mott “Thank Me Later” Eye Primer
Bellapierre Eye Candy in Champagne
Total Intensity Eyeliner in Deepest Black
Styli-Style Line & Seal Twist Mechanical Eye Liner in Lapis
Bellapierre Shimmer Powder in Cocoa
Bellapierre Shimmer Powder in Snowflake
Bellapierre Shimmer Powder in Haha
Geri G. Mascara in Black - Found in BB5′s Indie Makeup Box (spoiler alert!)
Cheeks and Lips:
Bellapierre Cheek and Lip Stain in Coral
Unless you have been living under a rock you have seen Beyonce’s new video Formation and you have already formulated your own opinions over the song topic. We also have all seen her Super Bowl Halftime Show with Coldplay and Bruno Mars. Beyonce’s performance was certainly memorable (hello backround dancers rockin’ afros) and the ladies at BB5 thought her make-up was absolutely flawless. Time to recreate!
One thing we did notice was that her make-up looked different at every angle. When she first graced the screen it looked like Queen Bey had a mauvey look and then in the next shot her make-up looked all copper. She for sure had strobed and highlighted skin that illuminated the entire stage even while she was about to fall (sorry Bey we had to) and a halo eye. It really takes a lot to be Beyonce and we don’t have her resources or Sir John, so keep in mind this will be an imitation and not an exact duplication. So, here’s what Erin at team BB5 used to imitate Yonce’s show stopping look:
Anastasia Brow Wiz in Medium Brown
L’oreal Paris True Match concealer in medium/deep
Elizabeth Mott Thank Me Later Eyeshadow Primer
MAC Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Saddle
MAC Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Espresso
MAC Cosmetics Extra Dimension Eyeshadow in Amorous Alloy
MAC Cosmetics Irresistibly Charming Glitter and Pigments in Gold - Blonde’s Gold
MAC Cosmetics Eye Pencil in Coffee
False Eyelashes #747 Medium
Duo Eyelash Adhesive Dark Tone
Benefit Bad Gal Lash
MAC Cosmetics Prep+Prime
MAC Cosmetics Studio Fix Foundation in NC45
Mirabella Perfecting Powder in Translucent
Manna Kadar Cosmetics 3-in-1 pigment
Nars Bronzing Powder in Laguna
MAC Cosmetics Lip Liner in Cork
MAC Cosmetics Matte Lipstick in Persistence
MAC Cosmetics Irresistibly Charming Glitter and Pigments in Gold - Blonde’s Gold
Begin this look by filling in your eyebrows and sculpting them with a concealer. Then begin your shadow process. One word to keep in mind for this look is BLENDING. Beyonce had no harsh lines and everything was blended to perfection even on her lips. The halo-like eyeshadow cannot be recreated without intense blending. I used a brush from MAC cosmetics #224 to buff the shadows in my crease, brush #135 to create the halo, and brush #252 to pat the pigment in the center of the eyelid. Of course always use an eyeshadow primer before applying eyeshadow. I used one from Elizabeth Mott that came in the February Beauty Box 5- Thank Me Later. Also, it didn’t appear that Yonce had on false lashes but, to me, no look is complete without some full eyelashes. So, I got a very natural pair of lashes, #747 in size medium, and used a dark adhesive. The great thing about #747 falsies is they come in different sizes like XS, S, M, and L. So they are really perfect for any eye shape.
Beyonce had a bronzed cheek and crazy highlight. So instead of using a blush, I used a bronzer, which keeps the look warm. Then I added Manna Kadar 3-in-1 pigment in Fantasy (which came in the February Beauty Box) as my highlight to get the same strobed skin. Beyonce’s skin could be seen from space, so I added a lot of highlight.
Finish this look with a dark brown liner and a nude lipstick. Everyone’s shade of nude will be different, so I recommend testing a lot of shades before deciding on the perfect nude lip. Once the lip is applied, press the same pigment used on your eyes into the center of your lips to create the cyber look.
Okay, ladies now let’s get in formation!! #swag
The weather here in the US might be cooling down, but we trust this NYX Love in Rio- En Fuego palette will keep us warm and cozy through our chilly months. You don’t need an expert to tell you mauve, berries and plums will be huge for Fall 2015 because these particular pigments are already popping up on stores’ shelves. I was probably too excited to match my berry colored glasses to my pants and eyes yesterday, but no shame, babes.
I’m a sucker for anything purple, so I’m scrambling to put away my bright pinks and corals. The En Fuego palette is especially great for anyone with bright eyes because the high pigmentation and red base brings out our stormy colors. I love this particular wine undertone because it takes some real courage to wear sienna and bright ruby on your lids, but this cute combo is a trendy baby step.
I primed this look by applying an eye shadow base (like this Bellapierre beauty) because it really makes the pigment of the shadow pop and prevents creasing.
Using an angled brush, I made an outline with the lightest color, silvery lilac, from the corner of my eye to the end of my brow, using caution to not cover my brow highlight. I then filled the base color around the rest of my eye, ensuring to get the corner of my eye to lighten the look. Next, I applied the middle color, plum, to my lid all the way up to the ridge where my bone starts. Finally, I finished the look by filling my crease with gunpowder. I also create a line on the outer corners of my eye, making a V-shape to darken the look a bit.
Simply add a wing and prayer (that you get the perfect eyeliner flick on the first try), and pile on some mascara to complete the look. I also used NYX’s lip butter in licorice and slim lip pencil in prune to pull together my plum-hued look. It felt great to be rocker chic and take on the fall to come, even if I was just pretending for a day.
Xoxo

Sure, award shows have their high notes and low notes, but as loyal beauty babes, we always get excited to see the bold makeup looks our favorite girlcrushes rock on the red carpet and this year’s VMAs gave us cosmetic inspiration overload!
Rocking a Hollywood face doesn’t have to be hard, so we’re breaking down our 3 favorite styles to serve major face on and off screen (but please, no autographs).
First up- the most powerful liner flick we’ve seen in so long from Queen Nicki Minaj herself.
Erin aced this dramatic wing with help from our latest liner crush- the On Point Liquid Liner Pen by Bodyography! Draw your line a little at a time to build to the perfect shape. We love how Nicki kept the rest of her face makeup minimal to let the feline flick stand out- one bold swipe and you’re out the door- because, hey, the night is still young and so are you, right?
Next up- Kelly Osbourne’s dramatic bright pout caught our eyes and captured our red-lip-loving hearts, too!
Kelsey crafted this color with 2 favorites- Paint the Town by Lol Cosmetics and Revlon’s Photoready Cream Blush in Coral Reef- and blended them together with a lip brush. Don’t be afraid to draw on a more angular cupid’s bow like Kelly’s for the full effect. To top it off, a swipe of the same liner Erin used (Bodyography for the win!) and pushing your waves to one side gives a VMA vibe for sure.
Lastly, create the gaze of your wildest dreams, aka, Taylor’s graphic lined eye.
Jenny’s peepers totally pop, no? She just followed Tay’s exaggerated line using- you guessed it- our Bodyography liquid liner pen and then added navy and teal right on top with the gorgeous blue powders in Bellapierre’s Get The Look Kit in Deep Ocean. Top it off with a black mascara and nude gloss and seriously, this is one look that never goes out of style.
What were your favorite looks from the VMAs, babes? Spill in the comments below!
