HOW TO COVER A BLEMISH
A quick and simple tutorial on how to βspot concealβ for days that you donβt want to wear foundation but you need a little...
Unless you have been living under a rock you have seen Beyonce’s new video Formation and you have already formulated your own opinions over the song topic. We also have all seen her Super Bowl Halftime Show with Coldplay and Bruno Mars. Beyonce’s performance was certainly memorable (hello backround dancers rockin’ afros) and the ladies at BB5 thought her make-up was absolutely flawless. Time to recreate!
One thing we did notice was that her make-up looked different at every angle. When she first graced the screen it looked like Queen Bey had a mauvey look and then in the next shot her make-up looked all copper. She for sure had strobed and highlighted skin that illuminated the entire stage even while she was about to fall (sorry Bey we had to) and a halo eye. It really takes a lot to be Beyonce and we don’t have her resources or Sir John, so keep in mind this will be an imitation and not an exact duplication. So, here’s what Erin at team BB5 used to imitate Yonce’s show stopping look:
Anastasia Brow Wiz in Medium Brown
L’oreal Paris True Match concealer in medium/deep
Elizabeth Mott Thank Me Later Eyeshadow Primer
MAC Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Saddle
MAC Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Espresso
MAC Cosmetics Extra Dimension Eyeshadow in Amorous Alloy
MAC Cosmetics Irresistibly Charming Glitter and Pigments in Gold - Blonde’s Gold
MAC Cosmetics Eye Pencil in Coffee
False Eyelashes #747 Medium
Duo Eyelash Adhesive Dark Tone
Benefit Bad Gal Lash
MAC Cosmetics Prep+Prime
MAC Cosmetics Studio Fix Foundation in NC45
Mirabella Perfecting Powder in Translucent
Manna Kadar Cosmetics 3-in-1 pigment
Nars Bronzing Powder in Laguna
MAC Cosmetics Lip Liner in Cork
MAC Cosmetics Matte Lipstick in Persistence
MAC Cosmetics Irresistibly Charming Glitter and Pigments in Gold - Blonde’s Gold
Begin this look by filling in your eyebrows and sculpting them with a concealer. Then begin your shadow process. One word to keep in mind for this look is BLENDING. Beyonce had no harsh lines and everything was blended to perfection even on her lips. The halo-like eyeshadow cannot be recreated without intense blending. I used a brush from MAC cosmetics #224 to buff the shadows in my crease, brush #135 to create the halo, and brush #252 to pat the pigment in the center of the eyelid. Of course always use an eyeshadow primer before applying eyeshadow. I used one from Elizabeth Mott that came in the February Beauty Box 5- Thank Me Later. Also, it didn’t appear that Yonce had on false lashes but, to me, no look is complete without some full eyelashes. So, I got a very natural pair of lashes, #747 in size medium, and used a dark adhesive. The great thing about #747 falsies is they come in different sizes like XS, S, M, and L. So they are really perfect for any eye shape.
Beyonce had a bronzed cheek and crazy highlight. So instead of using a blush, I used a bronzer, which keeps the look warm. Then I added Manna Kadar 3-in-1 pigment in Fantasy (which came in the February Beauty Box) as my highlight to get the same strobed skin. Beyonce’s skin could be seen from space, so I added a lot of highlight.
Finish this look with a dark brown liner and a nude lipstick. Everyone’s shade of nude will be different, so I recommend testing a lot of shades before deciding on the perfect nude lip. Once the lip is applied, press the same pigment used on your eyes into the center of your lips to create the cyber look.
Okay, ladies now let’s get in formation!! #swag
A tasty sneak peek at nail art tutorials we’re planning for later this month!
(That is, if you can look past the 🍔…)
With Halloween right around the corner, we’re gearing up with all sorts of bold makeup tutorials to make sure you put your best (and fiercest!) face forward.
Declare yourself an Ice Queen and bring the chill to any party with the blue hues we modeled on Courtney of B.Y.O. Beauty, above. The cool cosmetic work you’ll achieve will be worth everyone asking you if you want to build a snowman all night.
Our favorite products for nailing the Ice Queen look include:
Tarina Tarantino Pearl Glow Primer in Pearl to prime and illuminate the skin for the layers of products
LashEm False Lashes dusted with some light shimmer eyeshadow powder to give them an icicle feel!
NYX’s Macaron Lippie in Blue Velvet for the perfect blue pout
Bellapierre Cosmetics’ Get The Look Kit in Deep Ocean to layer mineral shadows on lids for maximum intensity, dust them lightly in a contour pattern around the face and lightly on brows, too!
Sparkles and Pop’s Opal Crystal Flower Bib: because every Queen needs some bling.
Self-adhesive rhinestones or regular rhinestones applied with any body-safe glue (like eyelash glue) in a crown pattern

Busting out some seriously fun color for Halloween makeup tutorials that we’re shooting today!
What looks do you want to see? 👻🎃
Sure, a girl’s best friend is a palette full of pretty neutrals, but we think it’s time to expand your summer style and let a little brightness in!
BEAUTY TOOLS
STEPS
1. Apply a thin layer of eyeshadow base to your entire lid with your finger.
2. Starting at the corner of your eye, apply a neutral shadow (with a hint of shimmer!) by sweeping your brush along your crease for all-over color and definition.
3. Pick your favorite light blue shade and fill in your top lid. For more vibrant color, you can add a few layers of shadow, or wet your brush.
4. Using an angled brush, start at the corner of your eyes and work your way inwards to create a thin line with a bright yellow shadow, stopping just beyond your iris.
5. Apply the liquid eyeliner base to your top lash line only, then follow with black liquid liner for a simple and clean line.
6. Make the bright colors really pop with long, dark lashes– just apply three coats at the top and two at your bottom for lush volume.
PS. When you’re highlighting your eyes with bold colors it’s best to leave the rest of your face more natural side. We just applied a little lip gloss and called it a success!
It’s gonna be hot out there, y'all!
Summer is the perfect excuse to streamline your beauty routine, so swap out foundation and sultry shadows for a cute cat eye, glam shades, and a bright lip for an effortless sunny look!
BEAUTY TOOLS
STEPS
P.S. The key to a perfectly lacquered lip is a good canvas! Always exfoliate and moisturize before applying lipstick– gently scrub lips with a tooth brush, apply lip balm, and give it a few minutes to soak in!
